Pratt & Whitney, of East Hartford, Conn., is one of the three largest aircraft engine manufacturers, with a wide variety of civil and military power plants. More than 40 percent of the world’s passenger aircraft, operated by 800 customers in 160 countries, use the company’s large commercial engines. Nearly 11,000 Pratt & Whitney military engines serve 27 armed forces in 22 countries. Pratt & Whitney Canada produces turbofan, turboprop and turboshaft engines for regional, business and military aircraft and rotorcraft.
